Sedona When you enter Sedona you are greeted by its magnificent red rocks. Enjoy its natural beauty while you peruse the great shopping or check out the work of Sedona's many local artists. You'll also enjoy the Native American culture and influences of this beautiful destination. Only about an 1 1/2 hours from Phoenix making it is a great day trip idea! For more info about Sedona, click here. FlagstaffThe largest city in Northern AZ, Flagstaff is said to be the gateway to AZ's northern attractions. Shop in its quaint downtown historic district or visit the Museum of Northern Arizona, which explores the natural beauty of the area. Flagstaff is also a center for astronomical research, with the Lowell Observatory and stations of the US Naval Observatory and the US Geological Survey. Flagstaff's official website. TucsonTucson, too SAHN or TOO sahn, is one of the oldest towns in the United States. Located in southeastern Arizona, it is the home of the University of Arizona. Grand CanyonNo trip to Arizona would be complete without visiting the Grand Canyon. Located in northern Arizona, this great gorge in the Colorado river measures over 200 mi. long and 1 mi. deep. It is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. You can hike down the canyon, raft the waters of the Colorado, or simply stand at the rim and take in the breathtaking views. Canyon de Chelly Nat'l MonumentBeautiful Canyon de Chelly (see pic on Travel main page) contains the ruins of several hundred prehistoric Native American villages, most of them built A.D. 350–1300. The spectacular cliff dwellings include Mummy Cave, with a three-story tower house. Artifacts have been found, and there are numerous pictographs in rock shelters and on cliff faces.
